CITY COUNCIL <br />AGENDA ITEM 2D <br /> <br /> <br />STAFF ORIGINATOR: Sarah Cotton <br /> <br />MEETING DATE: December 12, 2016 <br /> <br />TOPIC: Consider Resolution No. 16-167, Amending the 2016 General <br />Operating Budget <br /> <br />VOTE REQUIRED: 3/5 <br /> <br /> <br />BACKGROUND <br /> <br />The City Council has made a number of fiscal decisions through the year which have an impact on <br />the general operating budget. Additionally, economic conditions and projected changes in budget <br />projections have had a significant impact on the City’s budget for 2016. Staff has examined the <br />potential budget areas that will be impacted by these factors. The impacts include increased <br />revenues in building activities, police state aid, and other fines and fees, as well as changes in <br />expenditure areas due to personnel vacancies, changes to professional and contracted services, <br />variances in supplies, tools, fuel, and utilities, and finally the transfer for the park land loan. <br /> <br />Staff has prepared a listing of proposed budget adjustments for conditions that are known today <br />for City Council consideration. <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION <br /> <br />Staff recommends the approval of Resolution No. 16-167. <br /> <br />ATTACHMENTS <br /> <br />Resolution No. 16-167, Amending the 2016 General Operating Budget <br /> <br />
