The recommendation comes <br />69 forward through an internal process. The position is included in the approved 2017 budget. <br />70 <br />71 Council Member Manthey moved to approve the promotion of Officer Hagert as recommended. <br />72 Council Member Kusterman seconded the motion. Motion adopted on a voice vote. Director <br />73 Swenson added that Sergeant Hagert will be attending a future council meeting so that the council <br />74 may recognize the promotion. <br />75 <br />76 413) Consider Hiring of Police Officer — Public Safety Director Swenson explained that staff is <br />77 seeking authorization to hire one police officer to fill the position vacated by the promotion of <br />78 Melissa Hagert. He reviewed the application and review process used to bring forward the <br />79 department recommendation. He recommends the hiring of Connor Williams, effective February 13, <br />8o 2017. <br />81 <br />82 Council Member moved to approve the hiring of Connor Williams as recommended. Council <br />83 Member Maher seconded the motion.
