<br />Lino Lakes 2040 <br />Comprehensive Plan Update <br /> <br />Council/Board Work Session <br />May 15, 2017 <br />2030 Vision for Parks, Trails, Open Space and Recreation (Chapter 2, Page 2-2) <br />The city has provided Lino Lakes residents with a comprehensive array of well-maintained parks, <br />interconnected trails, natural open spaces and greenways, and recreational opportunities for their <br />enjoyment and recreation. It also has preserved and enhances the community’s natural environment and <br />special character. <br /> <br />2030 Vision for Natural Resources and Amenities (Chapter 2, Page 2-3) <br />The unique and extensive natural resources and amenities which are highly-valued and enjoyed by the <br />community including wildlife, wildlife habitats, and other ecologically significant assets have been restore to <br />the fullest extent possible and preserved. This has been accomplished in part through the ongoing <br />partnership between Lino Lakes and the Rice Creek Watershed District which provides a conservation- <br />based framework for the city’s upland and aquatic resource management. <br /> <br />2030 Vision for Land Use Policies and Practices (Chapter 2, Page 2-4) <br />Lino Lakes has enhanced and preserved the quality of its natural resources and amenities and achieved a <br />well-planned community through anticipating, planning for, and balancing the needs for natural resource <br />protection with the need to accommodate growth. <br /> <br />2030 Vision for Other Ecological Challenges and Threats (Chapter 2, Page 2-5) <br />Lino Lakes, in anticipation of potentially devastating ecological threats and challenges that are imported to <br />the community, has initiated cooperative partnerships with the state and other local government entities <br />and programs for dealing with these threats. <br /> <br />2030 Vision for Community, Residential and Neighborhood Development (Chapter 3, Page 3-2) <br />Lino Lakes is a well-designed and aesthetically pleasing community that has retained its strong sense of <br />identity and pride, neighborhood orientation, and commitment to preserving its many precious and unique <br />natural resources and amenities. These assets contribute to the quality of life valued and enjoyed by its <br />citizens. The citizens of Lino Lakes have achieved, enhanced, and sustained their community, rich in <br />quality and spirit, through conserving and preserving that which they value and desire. They have achieved <br />this through sound comprehensive planning and accompanying official controls, and the creation and <br />application of strategic innovations in community planning and development. <br />
