Add prominent and welcomingsignage: <br /> B. Improve Wargos digital presence on the web with video, an Instagram feed, smart <br /> phone apps, etc. <br /> C. Improve marketing. <br /> Goal2: Increase connectivity to Wargo Nature Center. <br /> Strategies: <br /> A. Create a non-motorized trail / boardwalk connection to the YMCA and Lino Lakes, <br /> B, Improve the pedestrian and bicycle connection along the entry drive to the Central <br /> Anoka County Regional Trail. <br /> C. Establish the water trail between Wargo Nature Center and the Rice Creek Chain of Theexlstingentrywalkat Wargo Nature (enter <br /> Lakes Regional Park Reserve campground. <br /> Goal 3: Improve the entry experience and sense of welcome, from CSAH 14 to the <br /> building. <br /> Strategies: <br /> A. Create nature experience pullouts along the entry road that are accessible after hours, 77!: <br /> adding a few parking spaces and interpretationatthecompostsiteandprairie, <br /> B. Partner with integrated waste management to use the compost site as a learning <br /> experience — for example compost demonstration area with interpretive information. <br /> C. Add welcome and wayfinding signage. <br /> D. Enhance the natural experience between the parking lot and the building by adding <br /> native plantings, a learning station, and seating along the entry path. <br /> E. Make the building's main entry more visible. I <br /> Kayaks are a popular activity at Wargo Nature Center. <br /> F. Screen the dumpsters and garage with vegetation. <br /> G. Separate visitor access (by foot) along the main entry walk from maintenance and <br /> operational access (by vehicle). <br /> H. Improve the landscaping around the building by adding more natives and screening <br /> service functions. <br /> Goal 4: Increase programming around 'Essential Experiences ': Water Access, Access <br /> to Four Ecotypes, Birding, and Tree Houses (Outdoor Classrooms) . <br /> Strategies: <br /> A. Create indoor exhibits. <br /> B. Build and utilize new learning station platforms, dockaccess, and boardwalks tocreate <br /> water stewardship demonstrations and water-oriented recreation. <br /> C. Create interpretive exhibits that Introduce visitors to the four ecotypes at Wargo, and <br /> provide a deeper understanding of their ecology. <br /> D. Add an outdoor classroom structure to the restored prairie area for programs. <br /> E. Improve birding programs with focused exhibits, habitat improvements, viewing <br /> areas, nest cams, and special events tailored around seasonal bird activities.
