<br />WS – Item 6 <br />WORK SESSION STAFF REPORT <br />Work Session Item No. 6 <br /> <br /> <br />Date: June 5, 2017 <br /> <br />To: City Council <br /> <br />From: Jeff Karlson <br /> <br />Re: Outsourcing <br /> <br /> <br />Background <br /> <br />Mayor Reinert requested that this item by placed on the work session agenda. <br /> <br />Several years ago the Council asked staff to put together a list of service providers and <br />consultants used by the City, and to recommend a time period for requesting proposals. <br /> <br />A few years ago the City sent requests for proposals for engineering services and <br />prosecution services. More recently, the City changed to another auditing firm and <br />brokerage firm for health, dental, and life insurance. <br /> <br />Mayor Reinert suggested we send an RFP to other insurance agents for the City’s general <br />liability, property, and worker’s compensation insurance program. The City is in the <br />middle of its renewal at this time, so RFP’s would have to go out in the fall. <br /> <br />Staff routinely looks at other vendors for many of its other contracted services. <br /> <br />Requested Council Direction <br /> <br /> No action required. <br /> <br />Attachments <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
