STAFF ORIGINATOR: <br />MEETING DATE: <br />TOPIC: <br />VOTE REQUIRED: <br />BACKGROUND: <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />AGENDA ITEM 1F <br />Lisa Hogstad-Osterhues, Deputy City Clerk <br />August 8, 2016 <br />Consider Resolution No. 16-82, Authorizing issuance of a <br />1-4 Day Temporary On -Sale Liquor License for the <br />American Legion Post 566 <br />Simple Majority (3/5 Vote Required) <br />American Legion Post 566 is in the process of applying for a special event permit for <br />August 19th, 20th and 21st during the weekend of the Blue Heron Days festival. They <br />would like to obtain a 1-4 Day Temporary On -Sale Liquor License in conjunction with <br />that event. <br />The American Legion will be fencing off a portion of their property on the south side of <br />their building. The Minnesota Alcohol and Gambling Enforcement Division requires a 1 <br />— 4 Day Temporary On- Sale Liquor License to allow the consumption of alcohol in this <br />outdoor area. The applicant is required to submit their request to the City for local <br />approval before the application is submitted to the state for final consideration. <br />The Legion has submitted to the City an application for the 1 -Day Temporary On -Sale <br />Liquor License. The application has been reviewed by staff. <br />A background check has been completed by the Public Safety Department. <br />Therefore, staff is presenting for city council consideration a resolution authorizing the <br />issuance of a 1-4 Day Temporary Liquor License to the American Legion Post 566. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Approve Resolution No. 16-82, authorizing issuance of a 1-4 Day Temporary On- Sale <br />Liquor License for the American Legion Post 566. <br />
