CITY COUNCIL AGENDA ITEM 6B STAFF ORIGINATOR: Diane Hankee, City Engineer MEETING DATE: October 10, 2016 TOPIC: Consider Resolution No. 16-128 Order Project, Approving the Plans & Specifications and Authorizing the Ad for Bid, 2016 Surface Water Maintenance Project VOTE REQUIRED: 3/5 Vote Required INTRODUCTION Staff is requesting Council order the project, approve plans and specifications and authorizing advertisement for bids for the 2016 Surface Water Maintenance Project. BACKGROUND In accordance with the City's Surface Water Management Plan, sites have been identified for annual maintenance. Proposed improvements to the storm sewer system include cleaning of storm sewer outfalls, removal of vegetation and sediment deltas in stormwater ponds, minor pond excavation and storm sewer structure repair/replacement. Sites are selected for maintenance based on public input, input from Public Works, and feasibility of locations. The proposed project includes 15 sites throughout the city that have been identified for maintenance of publically owned stormwater infrastructure. Please refer to the attached map for specific site locations. The budget for the project is $100,000.
