CITY OF LINO LAKES <br />RESOLUTION NO. 16-172 <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING PUBLIC WORKS SPACE NEEDS ANALYSIS AND <br />EXISTING FACILITY AUDIT PROPOSAL <br />WHEREAS, The Lino Lakes Public Services Department is requesting City Council approval <br />to retain CNH Architects, Inc. to conduct a Public Works Space Needs Analysis and Existing <br />Facility Audit; and <br />WHEREAS, The Public Works Building (located at 1189 Main Street) was built in 1971 and <br />consists primarily of a mechanical area (for fleet and equipment repairs), break room, and office <br />space. Two sheds (built in 1971 and 2000) provide some storage for vehicles, equipment, and <br />supplies. A salt storage shed was built in 2013; and <br />WHEREAS, CNH Architects, Inc. will consider three approaches: <br />1 Renovate existing building and expand to meet future needs <br />2. Build a new facility at the existing site <br />3. Build a facility at the city property at Centerville Road and Birch Street <br />Topics including existing facility conditions, current and future space needs, growth potential for <br />each option, accessibility compliance, energy usage and potential for savings, long-term costs of <br />operation, and capital costs for remodeling/construction will be examined; and <br />�-- WHEREAS, Funding is available from the Building Facilities Fund. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Lino Lakes that <br />the Council accept the CNH Architects, Inc. proposal to conduct a Public Works Space Needs <br />Analysis and Existing Facility Audit for a fixed fee of $11,900 plus reimbursable expenses for <br />printing and mileage. <br />Adopted by the Lino Lakes City Council this 12th day of December 2016. <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was introduced by Council Member <br />Rafferty and was duly seconded by Council Member Maher and upon vote being <br />taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br />Rafferty, Maher, Manthey, Kusterman, Reinert <br />The following voted against same: <br />none <br />Jeff Reinert, a o <br />AT TEST: <br />
