CITY OF LINO LAKES <br />RESOLUTION NO. 17-52 <br />ADOPTING ANOKA COUNTY MULTI -JURISDICTIONAL HAZARD <br />MITIGATION PLAN, ADOPTING AMENDMENTS TO THE PLAN, <br />AND EXECUTION OF THE PLAN <br />WHEREAS, the State of Minnesota has ordained that every county and incorporated <br />municipality in the state is required to have a Hazard Mitigation Plan approved by the Minnesota <br />Department of Homeland Security and Emergency Management, to maintain eligibility for state <br />disaster assistance after November 2004; and <br />WHEREAS, the Federal Emergency Management Administration (FEMA) under the Disaster <br />Mitigation Act of 2000 has ordained that every county and incorporated municipality within the <br />county is required to have a Hazard Mitigation Plan approved by FEMA in order to be eligible <br />for Hazard Mitigation Grant Program Funding for Presidential disasters declared after November <br />2004; and <br />WHEREAS, under the Disaster Mitigation Act of 2000, the Federal Emergency Management <br />Agency (FEMA) has issued an Interim Final Rule that details the minimum criteria for local <br />hazard mitigation plans; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Lino Lakes agrees with the concept of and necessity for hazard <br />mitigation planning; and <br />WHEREAS, the Anoka County Hazard Mitigation Planning Committee recommends the <br />adoption of the Anoka County Multi -Jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan; and <br />WHEREAS, the Minnesota Department of Homeland Security and Emergency Management <br />and the Federal Emergency Management Agency have conducted a review of and approved the <br />Anoka County Multi -Jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan; and <br />WHEREAS, on June 24, 2014, the Anoka County Board of Commissioners adopted Resolution <br />#2014-73 adopting amendments to the Multi -Jurisdictional Plan for Anoka County and <br />additional text was added to the Anoka County All Hazards Mitigation Plan to include the <br />construction of safe rooms and storm shelters or the retrofitting of existing structures to be <br />utilized as safe rooms or storm shelters; and <br />WHEREAS, these amendments include all jurisdictions in Anoka County participating in the <br />All Hazards Mitigation Plan; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by The City Council of The City of Lino Lakes that <br />the city hereby adopts the Anoka County Multi -Jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan and its <br />Amendments and authorizes the execution of that Plan. <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was introduced by Council Member <br />Manthey and was duly seconded by Council Member Maher and upon vote being <br />taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br />Manthey, Maher, Rafferty, Reinert <br />
