Council Member Elliott introduced the following resolution <br />and moved its adoption: <br />CITY OF LINO LAKES <br />RESOLUTION NO. 95 - 169 <br />RESOLUTION ACCEPTING DONATION FROM THE CIRCLE -LEX LADIES <br />AUXILIARY VFW POST #6583 FOR ONE (1) BALLISTICS VEST:AND <br />DEFENSIVE TACTIC EQUIPMENT <br />WHEREAS, bullet proof vests (ballistics vests) have become a <br />standard piece of police equipment due to the ever <br />increasing violence in our society, <br />WHEREAS, funding for bullet proof vests are considered a piece <br />of clothing and thereby not included as a Police <br />Department budget item, <br />WHEREAS, the Circle -Lex Ladies Auxiliary VFW Post #6583 has made <br />a donation in the amount of $2000.00 to the City of <br />Lino Lakes for the cost of one (1) ballistic vest, and <br />needed equipment to initiate the Defensive Tactics <br />program; and <br />WHEREAS, the monies will be appropriated to the General Fund in <br />the following manner: <br />Increase Revenue - Contributions $2000.00 <br />Increase Expenditures -Police <br />Professional Services $1400.00 <br />Uniforms $ 600.00 <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City of Lirio Lakes <br />hereby accepts the donation of $2000.00 for the cost of one <br />bullet proof vest and needed Defensive Tactics Equipment and <br />wishes to express its gratitude to the Circle -Lex Ladies <br />Auxiliary VFW Post #6583 for its donation. <br />Adopted by the Lino Lakes City Council this 11th day of December, <br />1995. <br />Vernon F. Reinert, Mayor <br />Marilyn Ander'on, Clerk -Treasurer <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly <br />seconded by Council Member Kuether and upon vote being <br />taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Bergeson, <br />Elliott, Kuether, Neal, Reinert. <br />The following voted against same: None. <br />Whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted. <br />
