AGENDA ITEM NO. 5 <br />STAFF ORIGINATOR: Marty Asleson <br />DATE: April 4, 1996 <br />TOPIC: Approval of goals and request to spend dedicated park <br />dollars for 1996. <br />BACKGROUND <br />Each the Park and Recreation Board has reviewed the <br />goals and priorities set forth in Parks and Recreation <br />Comprehensive Plan as they relate to priorities and fiscal <br />realities. The end result of the planning work -sessions is a <br />list of goals that involve for the most extent the expenditure of <br />dollars from the dedicated park fund. <br />Attached is a list of the Park Boards request for <br />spending dedicated park dollars in 1996. The total costs <br />associated with these project as they relate to the 1996 goals is <br />$93,000. The audited balance of the dedicated park fundas of <br />December 31st, 1995 was $249,000. As was indicated by George <br />Lindy at the council work -session, there remains a commitment to <br />previously authorized expenditures of $73,155 of which $40,000 is <br />committed to Rice Lake Estates by development agreement. <br />OPTIONS <br />1. Accept the request of the Park and Recreation Board to spend <br />dedicated park dollars as per their 1996 Goals statement. <br />2. Refer back to staff and the Park and Recreation Board for <br />further consideration. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Option 1 <br />
