STAFF ORIGINATOR:
DATE:
AGENDA ITEM NO. 8A
Marty Asleson
May 8, 1996
SUBJECT: Trail Committee Resolution Reconsideration
BACKGROUND:
Last year the Park and Recreation Board sent a resolution to the
city council establishing a trail committee for the City of Lino
Lakes. The resolution was passed, by the City Council, on
November 2, 1995.
This item was brought to the city council on February 23 with a
list of trail committee recommendations. At that time the
council wished to clarify a few issues in regards to the
resolution before appointing trail committee members.
The questions that needed to be clarified concerned the staggered
lengths and terms of appointments and how the reporting system is
to occur.
After discussion at the Park Board meeting Monday, May 6, the
board passed the following:
A motion was made by Joe Schmidt to recommend the city council
stagger the terms of the committee members at 3 years and 2
years, and have the Trail Committee report directly to the Park
Board. The motion was seconded by Pam Taschuk and passed
unanimously.
Attached is a copy of the Trail Committee members recommended by
the Park Board.
OPTIONS:
1. Accept the motion passed by the Park Board.
2. Refer back to staff for further consideration.
RECOMMENDATION:
Option 1.
