The Planning and Zoning Board reviewed <br />the ordinance in July of 1995, set a neighborhood meeting for <br />discussion, followed with another P & Z meeting in November of <br />1995, formed a committee to discuss the proposed ordinance, and <br />ultimately recommended approval of the attached ordinance at their <br />March P & Z meeting. <br />Attached for Council information is a sheet which explains the main <br />differences between the existing ordinance and the proposed <br />ordinance. Staff will review these differences at the Council <br />meeting. <br />The Recommendation of the Planning and Zoning Board included the <br />following: <br />1. Property of greater than one acre and less than five acres <br />be allowed a maximum of 6 dogs in a private kennel. Properties of <br />5 acres and above allowed an unspecified amount of dogs to be kept <br />in the kennel which will be specified at the time of the issuance <br />of the Conditional Use Permit. <br />2. Three or more violations in one calendar year are grounds <br />for revocation of the Conditional Use Permit. <br />3. No leash is required for cats which are kept indoors at all <br />times. <br />OPTIONS <br />1. Approve first reading of Ordinance No. 96-03. <br />2. Recommend changes to Ordinance No. 96-03 and <br />for future date. <br />3. Return to staff for further review <br />Option 1 or 2 <br />
