AGENDA ITEM 6D <br />STAFF ORIGINATOR: David Ahrens, City Engineer/Public Works Director <br />DATE: June 19, 1996 <br />TOPIC: Resolution Number 96 - 70, Order Preparation of Report on Improvements, <br />35W/TH 49 Interchange Commercial Development Trunk Utilities. <br />BACKGROUND: <br />The City is currently studying the concept of developing a Town Center located on the <br />southeast quadrant of the 35W and Trunk Highway 49 interchange. In addition to the <br />Town Center concept, private development interest in this area is very active. <br />One of the main questions regarding any development request is the availability of <br />utilities. Since this area is currently without utility service, a report studying the <br />feasibility of installing utilities to this area is recommended to be completed so the City <br />can adequately plan for future development. <br />Pursuant to Minnesota Statutes, Chapter 429, Council is required to ;order the <br />preparation of a report studying the proposed improvements. <br />OPTIONS: <br />1. Return to staii`for further review. <br />2. Adopt Resolution No. 96 - 70 Order Preparation of Report on <br />RECOM.MENt TION: <br />Staff recommends that Council adopt Resolution No. 96 70 ordering a report on <br />improvements for the 35WffH 49 Interchange Commercial Development trunk utilities. <br />
