Attention: City of Lino Lakes, Planning Commission; <br />Planning and Zoning Committee <br />This letter pertains to the proposed Shoreland <br />ordinance. Specifically, I believe your request for <br />"flexibility" in various aspects from the model Shoreland <br />Ordinance set forth by the MN. DNR is a serious mistake, and <br />a gross injustice to Lino Lakes, its citizens, the <br />community, and to the integrity of its environment. <br />Upon reviewing the proposed ordinance, it is my belief <br />that in asking for leniency in the areas specified we are <br />really being asked to sacrifice our natural beauty, open <br />spaces, wet lands, lakes; in short, our identity for the <br />sake of urbanization. <br />Quite frankly I don't believe this to be a wise <br />undertaking and I believe much opposition will come of <br />development plans without a conscience. I don't know of <br />another way to describe a plan which requests all in Lino <br />Lakes to allow higher density developing, smaller set backs <br />from roads, and more impervious surface to the landscape. <br />To me this is completely unacceptable. <br />I don't believe your assessment of the intent of the <br />model Shoreland Ordinance to be an equitable one, and I'll <br />
