I. INTRODUCTION <br />A. PROJECT SCOPE <br />The project consists of six components: 1) replacement of one of three existing Boilers; 2) upgrade <br />of existing Perimeter Fence with supplemental wire barrier and replacement of electronic perimeter <br />surveillance; 3) remodeling and addition for the Reception/Segregation Unit; 4) construction of a <br />new 232 bed minimum security Chemical Dependency Unit; 5) increasing capacity and remodeling <br />of the existing Food Service and Dishwashing; and 6) remodeling to provide space for a new dental <br />exam room and x-ray unit in the existing Infirmary. <br />Three projects on hold pending availability of funds include construction of a warehouse addition <br />to the Service Building, an office addition to the Administration Building and renovation of <br />kitchens at the existing cottages. <br />B. PROJECT SCHEDULE <br />Project bidding and construction will occur in three phases. Bid Package 1, Boiler Replacement, is <br />scheduled to start construction in May 1995 and be completed in September 1995. Bid Package 2, <br />Perimeter Security Upgrade, is scheduled to be bid in April 1995, start construction in June 1995 <br />and be completed in September 1995. Bid Package 3, consisting of Reception/Segregation Unit <br />addition and remodeling, Chemical Dependency Unit, Service Building and Infirmary remodeling, <br />is scheduled to be bid in May 1995, start construction in June/July 1995 and be completed in <br />Spring of 1996. <br />Page 2 <br />
