AGENDA ITEM V A <br />STAFF ORIGINATOR Mary Kay Wyland <br />DATE November 3, 1995 <br />TOPIC PUBLIC HEARING - ANIMAL ORDINANCE <br />CGR <br />The Planning and Zoning Board briefly reviewed the Draft Animal <br />Ordinance at their July P & Z meeting. A neighborhood meeting was <br />then held on September 5, 1995. Ed Schones chaired this <br />neighborhood meeting at which time resident concerns were <br />expressed. No specific recommendations were made at this meeting <br />although areas of discussion included the following: <br />number of dogs <br />licensing of cats <br />recovering costs involved in enforcement <br />recuperation of fines <br />mandatory dog training <br />noise <br />size of lot required for commercial & private kennels <br />Chief Pecchia and Officer Kenow will be present for the Public <br />Hearing to review the concerns and recommendations of the Police <br />Department and the initiative behind revision of the Ordinance. <br />For your information, we have included an outline of the police <br />calls received in the last few years relating to animal control, <br />average time spent on calls, etc., and a copy of the proposed <br />ordinance. <br />OPTIO <br />1. Adopt Ordinance as proposed <br />2. Adopt an amended version of the Ordinance proposed <br />3.
