COUNCIL MEETING OCTOBER 9,1995 <br />Consideration of Resolution No. 95 -104 Ordering Improvements, Clearwater <br />Creek Subdivision - Mr. Ahrens explained that the public hearing for this subdivision <br />was held on August 14, 1995. In accordance with Section 8.06 of the Lino Lakes City <br />Charter, the benefited property owner, Mr. Anthony Emmerich, has petitioned the City to <br />waive 50 of the 60 days waiting period. The receipt of this petition allows the City <br />Council to immediately order the proposed improvement project. <br />Council Member Elliott moved to adopt Resolution No. 95 - 104. Council Member <br />Kuether seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously. <br />Resolution No. 95 - 104 can be found at the end of these minutes. <br />Consideration of Resolution No. 95 -136 Concurring with the City of Hugo's <br />Request for a Speed Study on 24th Avenue (Elmcrest Avenue) - The City of Hugo has <br />requested the Minnesota Department of Transportation to conduct a speed study on <br />Elmcrest Avenue from Main Street south to 129th Street. Currently, Elmcrest Avenue is <br />a rural design roadway (gravel with ditches) and is not posted for a speed limit. City <br />Council concurrence with Hugo's request for a speed study is requested by the Minnesota <br />Department of Transportation. <br />Council Member Kuether moved to adopt Resolution No. 95 - 136. Council Member <br />Elliott seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously. <br />Resolution No. 95 - 136 can be found at the end of these minutes. <br />CONSIDERATION OF HIRING A THERAPEUTIC RECREATION <br />COORDINATOR, MARY ASLESON <br />Mr. Asleson explained that the City Council previously authorized the expenditure of <br />the remaining $3,811.93 Community Development Block Grand (CDBG) funds <br />designated for the City's efforts in providing for the pilot project in adaptive recreation. <br />The money was to be used for the purpose of hiring a replacement for Becky Dvorak. <br />The name of the new person is Janette Bona. <br />Janette has a degree in Recreation from Mankato State University and a range of <br />experience from activity leader and program supervisor at the municipal level, to <br />experience as coordinator of Therapeutic Programming. <br />Council Member Elliott moved to approve the hiring of Janette Bona. Council Member <br />Kuether seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously. <br />PAGE 8 <br />
