City of Lino Lakes <br />Park Board Meeting <br />February 5, 1996 <br />She.said golfing will be done in the morning and there will <br />be a picnic in the afternoon. <br />Projects Update: Marty reported JU-3, Qualridge, Rice Lake <br />Estates, and the trail links are now being worked on by Mi- <br />chael Krech from the Engineering Department. When they are <br />complete he will bring them to the Park Board. <br />Pheasant Hills Preserve residents had a neighborhood meet- <br />ing, decided on a plan, and ordered the playground equip- <br />ment. <br />Other Updates and Old Business: <br />Ice Storm: Marty reported that the ice storm was hard on <br />the skating rinks and caused a great problem with the trees. <br />He said the whole city maintenance crew worked hard during <br />the storm to take care of the hazards. <br />Survey: George asked what the status was on the Lino Lakes <br />Park and Recreation Survey. He said after listening to Jon <br />Gurban he has some concerns and is wondering if the Park <br />Board needs to revisit this issue. Marty said he agreed <br />with what Jon had to say. Marty and Pam both said it was <br />necessary to ask the residents what they are willing to pay <br />for. George asked if Decision Resources works on surveys. <br />He also stated he would also like to get survey materials <br />and more information from John Durban. Marty said Decision <br />Resources does user surveys and statistically analyses them. <br />Joe.said we need to see what the residents want from the <br />park and recreation departments. He thinks the information <br />that Jon has will be very beneficial to the Park Board. <br />Marty said we should not make it a single issue survey. <br />Sharon said we should do a phone survey like Jon Gurban <br />talked about. Marty said Decision Resources does this too. <br />George asked Marty to put the survey on each Park Board <br />agenda as an update item. <br />NEW BUSINESS: <br />Tax Forfeit Land Acquisition: Marty explained that Marilyn <br />Anderson, brought forth to the City Council meeting on Janu- <br />ary 23 several pieces of tax forfeit land parcels for con- <br />sideration.
