City of Lino Lakes Park Board Meeting February 5, 1996 Janet talked about who was involved with the Cooperative Adaptive Recreation Committee. She said Cliff Holman has been the facilitator and helping get this committee going. She said they are forming a vision of what they hope to ac- complish and plans for whom they wish to reach. She in- cluded minutes from the January 9, 1996 meeting. She said she also works for North Metro Recreation and has been working with Barry to try to consolidate some programs to be able to provide better programming for all cities. Sharon asked what type of programs they plan to do jointly. Barry explained that they were working on off -school day trips. He explained that neither organization was getting enough kids to have the program happen because of the.ex- pense of transportation, but, if they are able'to join forces, share the transportation expense, and fill the pro- gram, it lowers the cost for both organizations. Barry feels that anytime you offer programs, for kids, that are affordable and well run you keep kids occupied and out of the police station/jail. Sharon said she wanted the city attorney to look at the un- derstanding agreement. The Park Board supported this idea and asked Marty to take it to the City Council.
