AGENDA ITEM 1313 <br />STAFF ORIGINATOR Randy Schumacher, City Administrator <br />DATE <br />TOPIC <br />9 June 1995 <br />ADA Coordinator <br />As you are aware, passage of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) <br />mandated that the City review its policies and practices in order to determine if those <br />policies and practices were accessible to the disabled. This required a self <br />evaluation which can be divided into three part: Evaluate; Plan; and Implement. <br />The City hired an ADA expert to assist in this self evaluation. <br />Now that the self evaluation is complete, the City must appoint an ADA <br />Coordinator to insure the transition plan and implementation is accomplished. <br />Therefore, t would like the City Council to appoint Administrative Secretary Jean Viger <br />as the ADA Coordinator. We have already begun implementing a number of items <br />identified in the self evaluation. <br />1 Appoint Jean Viger as ADA Coordinator <br />2.
