ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT ADVISORY COMMITTEE <br />AGENDA ITEM 3A <br />STAFF ORIGINATOR: Michael Grochala <br />EDAC MEETING DATE: July 13, 2017 <br />TOPIC: Comprehensive Plan Update — Meeting Summaries and <br />Land Use Study Areas <br />BACKGROUND <br />The City's 2040 Comprehensive Plan Update kicked off with a joint City Council/Advisory <br />Board meeting on May 15, 2017. Additionally, the City held a community open house on June <br />22, 2017 and launched an online Community Survey that closed on June 23, 2017. <br />Landform, the City's Planning Consultant, has prepare a memo to the Planning & Zoning Board <br />summarizing the open house comments and survey results. Additionally, Landform has worked <br />with staff to identify potential land use study areas. We will be discussing these areas at the <br />meeting. <br />One specific question for EDAC is: What should the City's role in economic development be? <br />Should it be more active in promoting or facilitating development or be a more passive <br />participant in the development process? <br />ATTACHMENTS <br />Landform Professional Services Report dated July 7, 2017 <br />a.
