CENTENNIAL 1994 EMERGENCY CALLS
The total calls for 1994 increased to 610 versus 516 in 1993. This
represents an increase of 94 calls or 18%. It should be noted however that
there were three addresses that had special conditions. These three
addresses accounted for 24 calls. The conditions at these addresses have
changed and we should not see that activity at these addresses in the
future.
During the last part of the year, we started experiencing some calls due to
alarms from Carbon Monoxide detectors. We expect this to continue. This
has caused us to evaluate our response to these type of calls and will
require us to purchase some additional equipment and training on the use of
the equipment. The equipment that is needed is a Carbon Monoxide meter
for each of the three pumpers.
The attached sheets give a breakdown of the calls by type and month as
well as a comparison for three years.
During 1994, our average response time from the time we are paged to the
time we arrive on the scene was 5.5 minutes.
Page 7
