CLOSING
The year of 1994 was a good year with the least fire loss in many years, just under
$51,000, with the largest loss being a vehicle fire. We feel that our prevention
efforts must have helped to some degree to keep this loss low.
During the year, we were able to get all the businesses inspected, which is a first.
We do plan to do an annual inspection of each building in the future.
Serious work has started on a county wide hazardous material team which will
allow us to respond to the needs in a much more cost efficient manner.
The new software installed in 1994 has allowed us to do a much better job with our
reporting of incidents as well as providing areas to record inspection data and
training activity.
With 1994 being history, we have some goals we want to accomplish in 1995.
Continue with our inspection program and make sure each business is
visited annually
Investigate ways and implement procedures to lower, make better, our
insurance rating in the areas without fire hydrants. The area with hydrants
was lowered in 1990.
Plan and hold the second annual safety Camp for third graders. This was
very successful in 1994 and was a cooperative effort of the Circle
Pines/Lexington Police, Lino lakes Police, Lino Lakes Park and Rec., and
Centennial Fire Department.
We sincerely hope the efforts of our members have made the communities we serve
a better placed to live. It must also be stated that none of this would be possible
without the support of the City Council, City Staff, and the citizens of Centerville,
Circle Pines, and Lino Lakes.
Page 15
