Council Member introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: CITY OF LINO LAKES RESOLUTION NO. 95 - 32 RESOLUTION ACCEPTING DONATION FROM MINNESOTA D.A.R.E, INC. FOR THE D.A.R.E. PROGRAM WHEREAS: the Lino Lakes Police Department began teaching the D.A.R.E. program in local elementary schools in January, 1995; and WHEREAS: the curriculum, developed by educators, is an elementary school drug prevention curriculum taught by specially selected and trained uniformed police officers; and WHEREAS: Minnesota D.A.R.E., Inc. was made aware of the desire for the Lino Lakes Police Department to teach this program in the elementary schools and has awarded the City a grant of $4,000.00 to defer the cost of this program, and WHEREAS: the monies will be appropriated to the General Fund in the following manner: Increase Revenue - Contributions $4,000.00 Increase D.A.R.E Expenditures: $4,000.00 NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Lino Lakes hereby accepts the grant of $4,000.00 to help fund the D.A.R.E. program and wishes to express its sincere gratitude and appreciation to Minnesota D.A.R.E., Inc. for the grant.
