AGENDA ITEM NO. 15A <br />STAFF ORIGINATOR : Marilyn Anderson, Clerk -Treasurer <br />DATE October 20, 1995 <br />TOPIC Consideration of an Application for Authorization <br />for an Exemption from Lawful Gambling License, <br />Lino Lakes Elementary PAB <br />BACKGROUND: <br />The Lino Lakes Elementary School located on Main Street has an active parent group. <br />This group conducts one major event each year to raise money for such things as <br />playground equipment. Since the Minnesota Gambling Statutes allow a non-profit group <br />to be excluded from obtaining a license if they conduct fewer that five (5) events per year, <br />I am requesting that the City Council also approve of the exemption. <br />OPTIONS: <br />I . Adopt a motion allowing the exemption. <br />2. Return the matter to staff for further consideration. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Option No. 1 <br />
