Subd. 5_ Blocks. <br />(1) Length. The maximum length of blocks shall be <br />1,500 feet and the minimum length 400 feet. <br />Blocks over 900 feet long may require <br />pedestrianways at least 10 feet wide at their <br />approximate center. The use of additional <br />pedestrianways to schools, parks, and other <br />destinations may be required. <br />(2) Arrangement. A block shall be so designed as to <br />provide two tiers of lots unless it adjoins a <br />railroad or an arterial where it may have a <br />single tier of lots. <br />Subd. 6. Lots. <br />(1) Location. All lots shall abut for their full <br />frontage on a publicly dedicated street. <br />(2) Size. The lot dimensions and areas shall comply <br />with the requirements specified in the zoning <br />chapter. <br />(3) Side lot lines. Side lot lines shall be <br />substantially at right angles to straight street <br />lines or radial to curved street lines. <br />(4) Watercourses. Watercourses shall be contained <br />within abutting lots. Watercourses shall be <br />protected by easement to the anticipated high <br />water level (as detemined by the City). Lots <br />with easements protecting watercourses shall <br />have sufficient dimensions and area above the <br />normal water levels (as determined by the City) <br />to equal or exceed the minimums specified in <br />the zoning chapter for the district in which the <br />lots are located. In addition, the diminsions of <br />the easements protecting watercourses shall be no <br />more than 10 feet less than the minimium lot <br />dimensions required for the zoning district. <br />(Amended by Ordinance No. 18-90 passed December <br />10, 1990.) <br />(5) Grading for drainage. Lots shall be graded so as <br />to provide drainage away from building locations. <br />(6) Natural features. In the subdividing of any <br />land, every effort shall be made to preserve all <br />natural features, such as tree growth, <br />watercourses, wetlands, historic spots, or <br />similar conditions. <br />(7) <br />Lot remnants.
