AGENDA ITEM NO. 4A
STAFF ORIGINATOR: David Ahrens, City Engineer
DATE: 9/7/95
TOPIC: Consideration of Resolution No. 95-109, Ordering the City Engineer to
prepare a Feasibility Report for an Elevated Water Storage Tank for the
Clearwater Creek Area:
BACKGROUND:
An elevated water storage tank is required to provide an adequate supply of
water to possible future commercial and residential developments in the
Clearwater Creek area. Currently, the Clearwater Creek housing development
will utilize a hydrostatic tank to maintain water pressure to the 150 proposed
homes. With the possibility of additional single-family homes in the Clearwater
Creek development and the possibility of substantial commercial or industrial
development in this corridor, the hydrostatic tank will not meet the water supply
demands of this new development. It is therefore necessary that the City
Council authorize the City Engineer to prepare a study for the construction of an
elevated water storage tank. The City's consulting engineer has quoted a price
of $950 to complete this study.
RECOMMENDATION:
1t is recommended that the City Council adopt the attached resolution
authorizing the City Engineer to prepare a feasibility report for an elevated water
storage tank.
