FOR <br />INTEGRA'T'ED RECREATION PROGRAMS BE'T'WEEN THE CITY OF CENTERVILLE <br />AND OTHER SURROUNDING PUBLIC AGENCIES <br />WHEREAS: The City of Centerville has a continuing effort to <br />provide an appropriate living environment tor its <br />residents, and <br />WHEREAS: <br />WHEREAS: <br />The Americans with Disabilities Act was passed as a <br />civil rights law for persons with disabilities, and <br />The Americans with Disabilities Act provides <br />protection/opportunities for any individual with a <br />disability who Chooses to use programs, services and <br />benefits within the City of Centerville, and <br />WHEREAS: The City of Centerville desires to cooperate in <br />providing integrated recreation programs and related <br />services for disabled personae including but not limited <br />to, persons who are physically disabled, hearing <br />5npai.red, chronically mentally 111, learning disabled <br />or mentally handicapped, and <br />WHEREAS: The City of Centerville believes that recreation <br />program integration for such persons can be provided on <br />a more efficient basis with programs of high quality <br />and with broader participation if joint and cooperative <br />programs are pursued with other surrounding public <br />agencies. <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE I1 RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF CENTERV i LLE , <br />MINNESOTA, that the City of Centerville supports the continued <br />movement towards the goal of providing a framework ani authority <br />for joint and cooperative agreements with surrounding <br />communities, school districts and other public agencies to <br />provide for integrated recreation programs, and <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a similar resolution be adopted by <br />other interested agencies. <br />Adopted by the Centerville city Council this stta day of March, <br />1955. <br />Tom Wilharbeer, Mayor <br />Roger? nberg, Clemm/Adm .nistrator <br />P.6/7 <br />
