AGENDA ITEM NO. 7A <br />STAFF ORIGINATOR Margin Anderson, Clerk -Treasurer <br />DATE August 9, 1996 <br />TOPIC <br />BACKGROUND: <br />Consideration of Resolution No. 96 - 87 <br />Accepting Donation From the Dead Broke <br />Saddle Club <br />The Dead Broke Saddle Club began their non-profit gambling occasions <br />the 49 Club beginning September 1, 1995. They have requested retie' <br />gambling license and the City Council formally approved their renewal request at <br />22, 1996 Council meeting. <br />at <br />The Gambling Ordinance requires that all non-profit gambling org <br />of their new profits to benefit the residents of Lino Lakes. Since t <br />Club did not donate directly to the residents the full 10% requiremen <br />to donate cash to the City to be used for the benefit of the residents. <br />Club has donated $2,266.73 in cash to the City. This money has been pia <br />account to be held until the City Council can determine a legal use for the funds. The <br />purpose of Resolution No. 96 - 87 is for formally thank the Dead Broke Saddle Club for <br />their donation. <br />le July <br />OPTIONS <br />1. Adopt a motion approving Resolution No. 96 - 87 thanking the Dead <br />Saddle Club for their donation. <br />2. Return to staff for further information. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Option No. 1 <br />
