AGENDA ITEM 5C <br />STAFF ORIGINATOR: David Ahrens, City Engineer/Public Works Director <br />DATE: August 8, 1996 <br />TOPIC: Resolution No. 96 - 92, Accept Utility Easements and <br />Payments, Fourth AvenTrunk Utility Improvements <br />BACKGROUND: <br />On August 14, 1995, the City Council ordered plans and specifications for the <br />Fourth Avenue Trunk Utility Project. This project included the construction of <br />sanitary sewer and watermain along Fourth Avenue and Lilac Street to serve the <br />Behm's Century Farms Development. The project, including construction, <br />engineering, and easement acquisition is funded by the Area and Unit Funds <br />assessed to the Behm's Century Farms Development. The attached summary of <br />easement acquisitions outlines the parties involved and the amount paid for <br />the easement (also refer to attached map). The Feasibility Report for the Fourth <br />Avenue Trunk Utility improvements estimated easement acquisition to cost <br />$30,000 compared to the $17,925 actual cost. Staff is requesting Council action <br />to approve the Utility Easements and authorize payment for said easements. <br />OPTIONS: <br />1. Return to staff for further review <br />2. Approve Resolution No. 96-92. <br />REPOMMENDATION; <br />Staff recommends that Resolution No. 86-92 accepting the utility easements and <br />authorizing payment be approved. <br />
