Anderson, Clerk -Treasurer <br />DATE August 19, 1996 <br />TOPIC <br />BACKGROUND: <br />Consideration of Resolution No. 96 - 98 <br />Declaring Costs to be Assessed, Ordering <br />Preparation of Assessment Roll and Setting a <br />Public Hearing for Unpaid mer and Water <br />Utility Bills <br />Each year, a number of property owners fail to pay their utility bills in a timely manner. <br />The Lino Lakes City Code, Section 401.29 and Section 402, Subdivision 6 provides that <br />all delinquent sewer and water utility bills shall be certified to the County Auditor for <br />collection with the property taxes. Attached to this "green sheet" is Resolution No. 96 - <br />98 which lists all delinquent sewer and water billings. I am asking for City Council <br />approval to hold a public hearing on September 23, 1996 to take public input on the <br />matter. All property owners who have not paid their utility billings will be notified by <br />mail and be will be given an opportunity to give their input at the public hearing. The <br />City will continue to receive payments on the delinquent accounts and will certify only <br />the unpaid portion of the delinquent billings. <br />OPTIONS <br />1.
