AGENDA ITEM 10D
STAFF ORIGINATOR: David Ahrens, City Engineer/Public Works Director
DATE: November 21, 1996
TOPIC: Consider Approval of Drainage Study
BACKGROUND:
Staff requested a proposal from SEH, Inc., to conduct a drainage study of the
northwest comer of the City (refer to attached location map). The purpose of the
drainage study is to provide information for identifying possible improvements to
the drainage system that should be undertaken (such as ditch cleaning, culvert
repair/replacement).
This study area is designated as a high priority task item in the City's Water
Management Plan due to known existing drainage problems and past problems
with the ditch system. The cost of the drainage study is for a not to exceed
amount of $9,200 and will be funded by the Surface Water Management Fund.
This fund is supported by charges to developments in the City.
OPTIONS:
1. Return to staff for further review.
2. Approve the proposal in the amount of $9,200 for SEH to prepare a drainage
study in the northern part of the City.
RECOMMIATION:
Staff recommends that the proposal be approved by Council.
