AGENDA ITEM 4A <br />STAFF ORIGINATOR: David Ahrens, City Engineer/Public Works Director <br />DATE: November 8, 1996 <br />TOPIC: Resolution No. 96-147, Consider Approval of Trunk Highway <br />Tumback Agreement <br />BACKGROUND: <br />Council approved a Memorandum of Understanding between the Minnesota <br />Department of Transportation and the City on June 24, 1996, for the tumba <br />Trunk Highway 49 from Lilac Street to the entrance of the Correctional Facility. <br />The length of this segment is 0.28 miles. The formal agreement to transfer the, <br />jurisdiction of this portion of Trunk Highway 49 to the City is attached and it is <br />requested that Council consider the agreement for approval. <br />The agreement states that the City can utilize Tumback Account funds for <br />reconstruction and maintenance of the segment of roadway. Tumback account <br />funds are funds available for use by Lino Lakes above the normal State Aid limits <br />placed on municipalities. The City will need to pass a resolution designating this <br />route as a Municipal State Aid Street at an upcoming Council Meeting. <br />OPTIONS: <br />1. Return to staff for further review. <br />2. Adopt Resolution No. 96-147 approving the Trunk Highway 49 Tumback <br />Agreement. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Staff recommends that Resolution No. 96-147 be adopted. <br />
