Lino Laces Crime Watch Newsletter
Lino Laces Police Department
What Number do I
Call 99
Recently, a num-
ber of citizens have
asked how to prop-
erly report incidents
of police, fire, medi-
cal, or animal control
natures. The follow-
ing procedures apply
to both emergency
and non -emergency
calls not only in
Anoka County but
the entire 7 county
metro area:
1. In ALL cases -
Dial 9 1 1 .
2. Be prepared to
give your name, ad-
dress , phone num-
ber and reason for
calling in.
3. If you want to
remain confidential,
simply tell the dis-
patcher.
What remaining
anonymous means is
your name will not be
given out. In this
case, any reports will
be identified as
.ANONYMOUS.. How-
ever, if an officer
needs to talk with
you to get additional
information, they may
need to get in touch
with you. The officer
will be told by the
dispatcher that you
want to remain
anonymous. If you
have asked to remain
anonymous and are
later contacted, you
can request that the
officer limit their
contact with you to
the telephone rather
than coming to your
residence. Or, if you
prefer, request the
officer to stop at
your location and talk
with you about the
situation in person.
4. The other num-
ber for you to be
aware of , but NOT
for reporting crimes,
suspicious activity or
animal control is our
administrative num-
ber: 780-0605. It is
answered Monday
through Friday, 8:00
a.m. to 5:00 p.m..,
except holidays. This
number is to get
general information,
such as getting a
copy of a report you
have filed, speak
with an investigator,
crime prevention,
etc.
5. Remember, all
calls reported
through 9 1 1 are
assigned and handled
by priority. This
means the most
threatening calls are
assigned and handled
first. Other calls
are prioritized based
on the seriousness of
the call.
6. When a 911
dispatcher answers
the phone and asks
.Is this an emer-
gency?. , if your
call is not an emer-
gency, say so and
stay on the line.
They will get back to
you as soon as possi-
ble. If you're not
sure if your situation
is an emergency. Tell
them .you're not
sure., dispatchers
are trained to deter-
mine the emergency
and ask the right
questions.
PRECINCT # 3 MAY STATISTICS
Suspicious PersonNehide/ActMfy 10
Theft 2
Burglary - Forced Entry 1
Vc nddism 4
Medical Emergencies 3
Residential Alarms (False -Chargeable) 15
Residentid Al ams (Fdse-Non Chargeable) 7
These statistics cre for the Month of May 1995 h
precinct #3 PTecnCI'S are based on Votes prechCt'S
within the City of Lino Lakes
The Lino Lakes
Crime Watch
Newsletter is
distributed by the
Lino Lakes Police
Department.
