1st Reading: March 27, <br />2017 <br />Publication: Appil 18, 201 7 <br />2nd Reading: April 10 , <br />2017 <br />Effective: May 18, 2017 <br />CITY OF LINO LAKES <br />ORDINANCE NO. 02-17 <br />ORDINANCE APPROVING SALE OF LAND TO <br />AMERICAN LEGION POST 566 <br />The City Council of Lino Lakes ordains: <br />Section 1. Property. The City is the fee owner of the Property legally described as: <br />Lot 14, Block 2, Carole's Estates 2nd Addition, Anoka County. <br />Section 2. Findings. <br />1. The American Legion's existing facility is located at 7731 Lake Drive in Lino <br />Lakes. The Legion has expressed a need to expand parking to efficiently operate <br />their existing facility. <br />2. The City's Property is southwest of, and directly adjacent to, the American <br />Legion's existing facility. The Property is vacant, and has been since the City <br />acquired it. <br />3. The Legion would like to acquire the Property in order to construct a parking lot <br />to service their existing facility. <br />4. The Property is not needed by the City for public purposes. It is in the best <br />interests of the City to sell the Property to the American Legion for expansion of <br />their facilities. <br />Section 3. Easements <br />City shall retain an access easement and a drainage and utility easement across the <br />easternmost 40 feet of the Property. <br />Section 4. Authorization <br />The City Council approves the sale of the Property to American Legion Post <br />566. The Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to execute a purchase <br />agreement, deed and other documents as may be necessary in order to sell the Property. <br />Proceeds from the sale of the Property shall be used in accordance with the requirements <br />of the City Charter. <br />
