P.A. <br />RE: Charter Amendment - Wards <br />Our File No. 4021-0130 <br />Dear Mr. Karlson: <br />In recent communications, you asked for an opinion on the following: <br />FACTS <br />On June 25, 2014, the Lino Lakes Charter Commission ("Commission") voted to <br />propose an amendment to the City Charter for public approval in the November 4, 2014, <br />general election. The language of the proposed amendment is as follows: <br />Section 2.03. Council composition and election. <br />Subdivision 1. The Council shall be composed of a Mayor and four (4) Council <br />Members who shall be qualified electors in the City of Lino Lakes and who shall <br />be elected at large. Council Members shall serve for a term of four (4) years <br />and/or until a successor is elected and qualifies.
