CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION <br />July 24, 2017 <br />APPROVED <br />1 CITY OF LINO LAKES <br />2 MINUTES <br />3 <br />4 DATE :July 24, 2017 <br />s TIME STARTED : 6:00 p.m. <br />6 TIME ENDED 6:25 p.m. <br />7 MEMBERS PRESENT :Council Member Rafferty, Kusterman, <br />8 Maher, Manthey and Mayor Reinert <br />9 MEMBERS ABSENT :None <br />to <br />11 Staff members present: City Administrator Jeff Karlson; Public Safety Director John <br />12 Swenson; Community Development Director Grochala; City Planner Katie Larsen; City <br />13 Clerk Julie Bartell. <br />14 <br />15 Item 1) Public Safety Quarterly Update —Public Safely Director Swenson reviewed <br />16 his written presentation (on the record). Notable events included Junior Citizens <br />17 Academy, Fall Citizens Academy, National Drug Take Back Initiative, New Fire <br />18 Equipment put into service, Child Seat Clinic (video produced). <br />19 <br />20 Mayor Reinert encouraged council members to contact the Chief with any questions. <br />21 <br />22 Item 2) Review Regular Council Agenda of July 24, 2017 <br />23 <br />24 Consent Agenda -Council Member Maher asked if the council has ever reached a point <br />25 where peddler licenses are limited. At some point it can become something like <br />26 harassment. <br />27 <br />28 Mayor Reinert said the council could discuss the topic of peddler limitations at the next <br />29 work session. <br />30 <br />31 4A) Consider Sale of Fire Apparatus -Chief Swenson noted an offer from the <br />32 volunteer fire department of Ellsberg in the amount of $32,500 for Engine.
