Jan 12 10 04:31p Caroline Dahl 651-484-4781 p.6 <br />Subd. 4.Commission meetings. <br />The charter commission shall meet at least once during each calendar year, and upon <br />presentation of a petition signed by at least ten percent of the number of voters of the <br />municipality, as shown by the retums of the last annual municipal election, or upon resolution <br />approved by a majority of the governing body of the city requesting the commission to convene, <br />the commission shall meet to consider the proposals set forth in such petition or resolution. <br />Subd. 5. Discharge. <br />(a) A charter commission in a statutory city may be discharged as follows: <br />(1) if the charter commission of a. statutory city determines that a charter is not <br />necessary or desirable, the commission may be discharged by a vote of three-fourths of its <br />members; or <br />(2) if a petition signed by registered voters equal in number to at least five percent of <br />the registered voters in the city requesting a referendum to discharge the charter <br />commission is filed with the city clerk, an election must be held on the issue at a general <br />election or a special election pursuant to section ?Q..510. If a majority of the votes cast <br />support the referendum, the charter commission shall be discharged. <br />(b) Another commission may not be formed sooner than one year from the date of <br />discharge. <br />MN STATUTES 13.05 : <br />Subd. 13_Data practices compliance official. <br />By December 1, 2000, each responsible authority or other appropriate authority in every <br />government entity shall appoint or designate an employee of the government entity to act <br />as the entity's data practices compliance official. The data practices compliance official is <br />the designated employee of the government entity to whom persons may direct questions <br />or concerns regarding problems in obtaining access to data or other data practices <br />problems. The responsible authority may be the data practices compliance official. <br />City of Ham Lake: <br />The Ham Lake City Charter does not designate their own Responsible Authority and Data <br />Practices Compliance Official. Dissemination of this information is handled by the City. <br />City of Robbinsdale: <br />This is not a requirement in our Charter or By -Laws. In Robbinsdale the City Council appointed <br />the responsible authority via resolution in 2004. <br />City of Fridley: <br />The City of Fridley Charter Commission does not appoint a Data Practice Person.
