Anoka County Multi-Jurisdictional <br />All Hazards Mitigation Plan <br /> 52 <br /> <br />2.3 percent; and personal current transfer receipts increased 7.1 percent. From 1993 to 2003 <br />net earnings increased on average 6.2 percent each year; dividends, interest, and rent <br />increased on average 7.6 percent; and personal current transfer receipts increased on average <br />8.7 percent. <br /> <br />Earnings by place of work <br />Earnings of persons employed in Anoka County increased from $5,492,028 in 2002 to <br />$5,816,477 in 2003, an increase of 5.9 percent. The 2002-2003 state change was 4.4 percent <br />and the national change was 4.1 percent. The average annual growth rate from the 1993 <br />estimate of $3,063,977 to the 2003 estimate was 6.6 percent. The average annual growth rate <br />for the state was 5.9 percent and for the nation was 5.3 percent. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Earnings <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />3.3.3 Employment <br />Employment and employers: Anoka County residents are well educated and take pride in their <br />work and community. Businesses, attracted by affordable land, are building and expanding in <br />Anoka County. <br /> <br />Major corporations like Medtronic, Aveda, United Defense, Hoffman Engineering, Onan, and <br />Federal Cartridge have found homes in Anoka County. In fact, Medtronic, the world's leading <br />medical technology company, recently built its global headquarters in Anoka County. In 2000, <br />almost two-thirds of Anoka County workers were employed in sales, office, and management, <br />professional and related occupations. <br /> <br />The Anoka County Economic Development Partnership (ACEDP), established in 1985, is a <br />501(c) 3 non-profit organization focused primarily on creating a business environment <br />conducive to growth and development in Anoka County. <br /> <br />The ACEDP Board of Directors consists of 17 persons representing businesses, education and <br />government leaders, and conducts its work through two staff persons.
