Anoka County Multi-Jurisdictional <br />All Hazards Mitigation Plan <br /> 140 <br /> <br />Bunker Lake and Rice Creek Chain of Lakes Parks. Bunker Lake Park consists of 120.34 acres <br />and is located in the northwest corner of the City. Rice Creek Chain of Lakes Park consists of <br />60.60 acres and is located in the southeast corner of the City. There are sixty-two city owned <br />parks throughout Blaine. The three largest parks are: Aquatore (66.57 acres), Lochness Park <br />(89.22 acres) and Pioneer Park (100.04 acres). <br /> <br /> <br />Private fee areas: The City of Blaine has 3 private fee area; the Tournament Players Club of <br />the Twin Cities, Kate Haven Golf Course and Metro Gun Club. <br /> <br />Agriculture and forestry: Very little agricultural land exists in Blaine. Currently, there are two <br />parcels (totaling 72.56 acres) zoned Agricultural and they are located north of 125th Avenue and <br />west of Radisson Road. <br /> <br />Commercial and industrial development and trends: Of Blaine’s 21,795 acres, 3557.75 <br />acres are zoned for commercial or industrial use. 1,500 of these acres are vacant. <br /> <br />Residential development and trends: A little less than half of Blaine’s total acreage is <br />dedicated to single-family development. 9,553 acres are zoned for single-family homes, and <br />only 2,619 acres remain vacant. Similarly, 954 acres are zoned for medium-density residential, <br />with 350 acres remaining vacant. Finally, 342 acres are dedicated to high-density residential <br />development, with 178 acres remaining vacant <br /> <br /> <br />Infrastructure and infrastructure projects: The City of Blaine has an ongoing, aggressive <br />street pavement management program that includes reconstruction, overlays, seal coats and <br />other minor maintenance. Funding of this work is through general fund budget and property <br />assessments. The City has utility fees in place for sanitary sewer, water supply and storm water <br />and performs routine maintenance of these utilities. The city recently completed a five million <br />dollar rehabilitation project of all of its older sanitary sewer lines. The city currently has 240 <br />miles of City, County, State and Federal roads, 134 miles of sidewalks and trails, 242 miles of <br />sanitary sewer, 281 miles of water main, 17 wells, four water towers, one water reservoir, three <br />water treatment plants, and 151 miles of storm sewer. The City’s sanitary sewers connect to <br />three Metropolitan Council interceptors. <br /> <br />CENTERVILLE <br />Geographic location and characteristics: Centerville is located in the eastern part of Anoka <br />County at Latitude 45.16 N and Longitude 93.05 W and an elevation of 899 feet. The city has a <br />total area of 1,597 acres (2.2 square miles.) Located between the shores of Peltier Lake and <br />Centerville Lake. The two lakes are used as a water supply for the city of St. Paul in drought <br />situations. It is a suburb of Minneapolis/St. Paul and is located 20 minutes from St. Paul. <br />Centerville is totally surrounded by the city of Lino Lakes. <br /> <br />Public lands: There are two parks located in the city. <br /> <br />Private fee areas: There are no private fee areas in the city. <br /> <br />Agriculture and forestry: Some agriculture left but mostly developed. <br /> <br />Commercial and industrial development and trends: The commercial development is <br />increasing with smaller to medium size businesses.
