Staff <br /> 61 is recommending that the position be filled by Nate Hamann, effective May 1, 2011. <br /> 62 <br /> 63 Council Member Rafferty moved to approve the part-time hiring of Nate Hamann as presented. <br /> 64 Council Member Roeser seconded the motion. Motion carried on a unanimous voice vote. <br /> 65 <br /> 66 Item 3B had been removed from the agenda. <br /> 67 <br /> 68 Mayor Reinert introduced the city's new police chief, John Swenson. Chief Swenson thanked the <br /> 69 council for the opportunity to serve the city. <br /> 70 <br /> 71 PUBLIC SAFETY DEPARTMENT REPORT, JOHN SWENSON <br /> 72 <br /> 73 There was no report from the Public Safety Department. <br /> 74 <br /> 75 PUBLIC SERVICES DEPARTMENT REPORT, RICK DEGARDNER <br /> 76 <br /> 77 There was no report from the Public Services Department. <br /> 78 <br /> 79 COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT REPORT, MICHAEL GROCHALA <br /> 80 <br /> 81 6A) Resolution No. 11-46, accepting a donation from Minnesota Metro North Tourism for Lino <br /> 82 Lakes Blue Heron Days—Economic Development Coordinator Divine explained that the city is <br /> 83 receiving a grant of$3,448 from the area tourism association to be used to promotion annual city <br /> 84 festival activities. The funds will be used to promote this year's Blue Heron Days festival. <br /> 85 <br /> 86 The mayor offered thanks for the donation. <br /> 87 <br /> 88 Council Member Gallup moved to approve Resolution No. 11-46 as presented.
