Schumacher, City Administrator <br />SUBJECT: Recommendations From the Ways & Means Committee <br />The Ways & Means Committee met on September 28, 1984 to discuss <br />the following three issues: <br />1. Establishing responsibilities of the designated "Officer in <br />in Charge" for the Lino Lakes Police Department, <br />2. Appointing a City Clerk/Treasurer and adjusting compensation, <br />3. Performance review of the Police Secretary. <br />The responsibilities herein listed have been recommended by the <br />Ways and Means Committee as a directional outline for the "Officer <br />in Charge" to follow: <br />A. Prepare time cards - review with Administrator <br />B. Supervise the office <br />C. Resolve Complaints - officers or public <br />D. Supervise and review reports <br />E. Responsible for equipment <br />F. "Training" <br />G. Scheduling manpower <br />H. Discipline recommendations shall be reported to the City Administ- <br />rator <br />I. Identify problems of significance and make recommendations for <br />for solving them. <br />Pursuant to Minnesota State Law, all incorporated Cities are required <br />to have on staff a City Clerk. The Clerks responsiblities are outlined <br />'in the statutes and are a part of the Lino Lakes Clerks job descript- <br />ion. <br />It is the recommendation of the Ways and Means committee to appoint <br />Marilyn Anderson to fill the vacated Clerks position and adjust her <br />salary by $50.00 per month. She will be reviewed at year end and ajusted <br />according to job performance and adaptibility of her new responsibilities. <br />
