Giy v1
no
akes
To:
From:
Date:
Re:
Honorable Mayor and City Council Members
E. Sarner, City Clerk
March 22, 1984
Proposed Precinct Split
I have considered several different ways to split the City into
two precincts and propose that the dividing line for Precinct I
and Precinct II follow I35W. All Residents North and West of
I35W would vote in Precinct I, which would use the City Hall as
the Polling Place. All Residents South and East of I35W would
vote in Precinct II which would use St. Joseph's Church as the
Polling Place.
I realize this suns to be an uneven split and it is area wise,
but population wise, not so uneven due the the amount of un-
developed land in the area and the vast amount dedicated to the
Regional Park.
I have obtained permission from St. Joseph's Church to use their
facilities for a Polling Place.
I have also ordered two (2) handicapped booths at $20.00 each.
At the Clerk's Conference, I looked at self storing Votamatic
machines. These unit contain the Votamatic unit encased in a
metal unit that folds into a small compact carrying case. These
units sell for $200.00 each. I would recommend the purchase of
at least six (6) of these units. This would give the City a total
of sixteen (16) votingmachines. This should be sufficient for
quite a few years. The self -storing feature give the City
flexiability as to how many machines can be used at each polling
place
""`
t
` f
iGtt .,
