As a candidate in the recent city elections he defends <br /> 17 and commends all those who ran for office and who faced the demands and public criticisms that go <br /> 18 with such an effort. He congratulated those who were elected to office, offered his support and <br /> 19 pledged to continue his engagement as an observer of city government. He also made a public appeal <br /> 20 for the return of his missing campaign signs. <br /> 21 <br /> 22 SETTING THE AGENDA <br /> 23 <br /> 24 The agenda was approved as presented. <br /> 25 <br /> 26 SPECIAL INTRODUCTIONS <br /> 27 <br /> 28 Kelly Fellows, Thrivent Financial for Lutherans, Rice Lake Professional Building, is pleased to open <br /> 29 an office in the city, his home town. He introduced his partner and noted other professional staff <br /> 30 available through his office. They offer a wide range of financial services through a long-standing, <br /> 31 top-rated Minnesota grown company. <br /> 32 <br /> 33 Steph Lasch, Stonewater Massage, and Chad Lasch, Mastiff Fitness, Rice Lake Professional Building. <br /> 34 Ms. Lasch spoke about their two new businesses that are organic. They have felt very welcome in the <br /> 35 community. She is a strong advocate of massage therapy licensing and she asked that, since the State <br /> 36 of Minnesota currently does not have licensing, the city should institute a process. The licenses <br /> 37 establish ethical boundaries for operators. She is willing to assist with developing a licensing process. <br /> 38 The Mayor concurred with the concept and suggested that the council begin the discussion at their <br /> 39 next work session. <br /> 40 <br /> 41 CONSENT AGENDA <br /> 42 <br /> 43 Council Member Rafferty moved to approve the Consent Agenda, Items 1A through 1C. Council <br /> 44 Member O'Donnell seconded the motion. Motion carried on a unanimous voice vote. <br /> 45 <br /> 1 <br />
