Public Safety Director Resignation—Acting Administrator Tesch explained that the city's <br /> 62 Public Safety Director, David Pecchia, has submitted his resignation. Mr. Pecchia has accepted a new <br /> 63 position as the Executive Director of the Minnesota Chiefs of Police Association. He has been with <br /> 64 the city since 1993 and has built a fine police department. Mr. Pecchia will be with the department <br /> 65 through the end of July and it is recommended that Captain Kent Strege be named as acting Public <br /> 66 Safety Director when Mr. Pecchia leaves. <br /> 67 <br /> 68 Council Member O'Donnell regretfully moved to accept Mr. Pecchia's resignation. <br /> 69 <br /> 70 Each council member thanked Mr. Pecchia for his service to the city and applauded his fine work. <br /> 71 <br /> 72 Council Member Gallup seconded the motion.
