COUNCIL MINUTES July 26,2010
APPROVED
450 increase the life of the roadway twofold. He pointed out that policy similar to this one are in place in
51 quite a few other areas. This resolution makes sense for Lino Lakes and apparently for over 60%of
452 the nation also. He is supportive of the resolution and he will be voting yes with a smile and his head
453 high, knowing that this is looking out for the future of the city and it is a fiscally responsible action.
454
455 Council Member O'Donnell added that he echoes Council Member Gallup's comments thanking
456 people for their input on this controversial issue. He tried to get back to as many people as he
457 possibly could because he has appreciated the input. This is a tough decision for him but looking to
458 the future is absolutely necessary. It is no secret that funding is shrinking from every direction to the
459 city and there is nowhere to turn but to the taxpayers. The council must manage the city well and
460 keep the cost of government at a reasonable level and make tough decisions like this. He believes this
461 is the right thing to do for this city and in consideration of the cost of government. Looking ahead
462 and taking prudent action to keep costs at bay is necessary and can help keep it affordable for people
463 to come here.
464
465 The motion carried on a voice vote. Council Member Gallup voted no.
466
467 Community Calendar—A Look Ahead
468 July 27, 2010 through August 9, 2010
469 Wednesday,July 28 6:30 pm,Council Chambers Environmental Board
470 Monday,August 2 5:30 pm,Community Room Council Work Session
471 1.
