CITY OF LINO LAKES <br />ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY <br />COUNTY OF ANOKA <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING EMINENT DOMAIN <br />RESOLUTION NO. 98-03 <br />WHEREAS, the Lino Lakes Economic Development Authority has determined <br />that the quadrant of the intersection of Lake Drive and Hodgson Road located <br />south and easterly of said streets is suitable and desirable for economic <br />development within the City of Lino Lakes; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Lino Lakes in conjunction with the State of <br />Minnesota and County of Anoka has recently relocated and realigned the <br />intersection of these two roadways; and <br />WHEREAS, the relocation of such roadway has caused excess right-of-way <br />to exist in said quadrant; and <br />WHEREAS, the County of Anoka which presently has title to said right-of- <br />way has indicated a willingness to convey same to the City of Lino Lakes; and <br />WHEREAS, the City deems it necessary in order to make the development of <br />said quadrant economically feasible it is necessary to combine such excess right- <br />of-ways with property owned in said quadrant by George Reiling; and <br />WHEREAS, the City and George Reiling have attempted to negotiate a <br />purchase of such property but have been unsuccessful; and <br />WHEREAS, the City has the authority to acquire property for economic <br />development by eminent domain or otherwise pursuant to Minn. Stat. Chap. 117 <br />and Section 469.101, <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Lino Lakes Economic <br />Development Authority hereby authorizes the acquisition of the land located <br />-1- <br />
