Accept donation from Lexington Firefighters Relief Association for safety camp expenses -
82 Centennial Fire Chief Jerry Streich noted that the Relief Association is again choosing to donate
83 funds to assist with this year's annual safety camp. The camp is a joint effort of the Police and Fire
84 Departments to help teach kids in the community about harmful things. The focus of this year's camp
85 will be on water, electricity, outdoors, personal and fire safety. The camp is growing ever closer to
86 being one hundred percent funded by donations like this one. Since Centennial Fire District does not
87 fix its own budget, it doesn't have statutory authority to accept this check. It would be appropriate for
88 the City, as a member of the joint powers agreement under which the District operates, to accept the
89 funds for transfer to the District.
90
2
