Member K i i P +- h P r introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />LINO LAKES ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY <br />RESOLUTION NO. 9 7 -17 <br />RESOLUTION REQUESTING ANOKA COUNTY TO <br />DECERTIFY TAX INCREMENT FINANCING DISTRICT NO. <br />1-3 <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Lino Lakes (the "City") approved Tax <br />Increment Financing District No. 1-3 ("TIF District No. 1-3") on October 10, 1989 in order to <br />assist in the redevelopment of the site of the former Ross liquor store; and <br />WHEREAS, in 1990, administrative responsibility for TIF District No. 1-3 was transferred <br />by the City to the Lino Lakes Economic Development Authority (the "Authority"); and <br />WHEREAS, Minnesota Statutes, section 469.176, subd. 1 a specifies that no additional tax <br />increment may be paid to an authority from a tax increment district after three years from the <br />date of certification unless within said three years, land is purchased, bonds are sold or <br />improvements constructed; and <br />WHEREAS, within three years of the date of certification of TIF District No. 1-3, none <br />of these qualifying activities occurred. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Lino Lakes Economic Development <br />Authority as follows: <br />1. The Authority requests the City to join with it in requesting that Anoka County <br />decertify TIF District No. 1-3, effective immediately. <br />2. Staff and consultants are hereby authorized and directed to take any additional <br />actions necessary or convenient to fulfill the purpose of this resolution. <br />RHB131370 <br />LN140-1 <br />
